2013 Polaris® Snowmobiles: What's New
Polaris®' snowmobile lineup has kept improving since the launch of the revolutionary Pro-Ride platform. This chassis uses a progressive-rate rear suspension with single shock that offers both firmer compression and larger travel than a traditional suspension. Meanwhile, the race-proven independent front suspension features a patented variable caster design that eliminates bump steer and improves overall handling.
For 2013, the engineers at Polaris® developed the all-new Quick Drive, the industry's first belt drive system on a production snowmobile. The many benefits over a traditional chain drive system include significantly improved power distribution, reduced weight and inertia, quieter ride, and lower maintenance (there's no oil bath).
Designed for the mountain and deep snow, the 800 PRO-RMK® goes on a diet for 2013 and now tips the scales at 189 kilograms. Moreover, this model gets sturdier PowderTrac running boards that allow more sure-footed control off the trail.
Polaris® is also complementing last year's successful 600 Switchback Adventure with the more powerful 800 Switchback Adventure, which boasts the famous Lock & Ride cargo system with side bags and rear rack in addition to a larger windshield. It also rides on premium Walker Evans shocks that will certainly delight sporty adventurers.
Only a limited number will be available, so if you're planning to buy one for next winter, you should contact your nearest Polaris® dealer right now.
With the new 2013 600 Indy, the manufacturer is reviving a nameplate that dominated the scene throughout the '80s and '90s.
The 600 Cleanfire engine and Pro-Ride Short chassis with conventional coupled rear suspension design combine to deliver more bang for your buck than pretty much every competitor. The base model features a Shockwave track and oil shocks, while the more upscale SP receives an aggressive Hacksaw track and Fox IFP gas shocks.
As you can see, the evolution of Pro-Ride snowmobiles at Polaris® is giving customers even more content and unique thrills than ever.
